We are busy preparing for the next stage.  While we are still in “survival” mode, we are beginning the “recovery” mode as well.  These two phases will over lap for some time.  Cleanup and prep for the third phase which is rebuilding.

No food now in over five days!  We have many promises but we quickly learned the truth of the old adage, “A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.”  Tomorrow we have a pretty solid lead on food, but until we have food on the property, we have no food.  Soon, with your prayers!

We are busy making ID badges for our tent city people.  The day quickly approaches when we will have to move them off the property in preparation for our medical clinics that we will set up.  This will move us out of the   Read the rest of this entry »

Greetings Beloved,

God is still showing himself strong as we begin the process of clean up and rebuilding. Below are some key praise reports and areas of need and prayer!

FIRST, OUR RELIEF WEB PAGE IS BACK!
I don’t know exactly what happened but we got our web site back, the perpetrators are being dealt with, and we’ve got a new page up, with higher level of security. Everything is almost back. We’re reworking the photo album. You can start giving again through out page. Since the page was up we’ve had over 25,000 hits. Go God! Read the rest of this entry »

Daily Update

We started our morning early today. A ship came in with food and water, but when we got there we were informed that something had happened overnight and the US military locked the port down. This is an update on the last 48 hours of our teams working hard to restore a sense of direction in the thick of discouragement among Haitians.

Morning Star has become a field hospital. Many who have visited Morning Star have commented that it’s the best clinic in Port Au Prince. This is do to grinding, hard work by some. One who stands out is Ray Jones, who is serving as our medical liaison. In the first few days after the earthquake, he was our sole provider for medical help. Ray arrived on the scene as soon as he could. He is a critical care paramedic from Kansas City, MO.

We have been able to see over 500 patients at our clinic. These patients are predominantly children. Some of the challenges we are facing are that many of them are dehydrated and malnourished. Read the rest of this entry »

Dear Beloved,

In the midst of great tragedy we see the mighty hand of God moving in great and powerful ways. So much has happened since my last update, I’ll do my best to bring you up to speed. Needless to say it’s been almost impossible to find the time to sit and write this email. I’m averaging 150 emails a day. Most are for coordinating logistics. We are getting 5 hours a sleep now so I almost feel normal.

First, we’ve found a source of purified water and two 400 gallon water tanks. They are loaded in my dump truck and we’re making 2-3 runs a day and distributing around 2,000 gal. of water in buckets to the tent city of 1500 along with the neighborhood. It’s drinkable and they can cook with it. WE STILL NEED A LARGE PURIFICATION SYSTEM FOR OUR WELL. We have many irons in the fire ….but I have to get this now.

Our first wave of support team has been on the ground several days. Read the rest of this entry »
