About Fishers of Men

Fishers of Men Ministries International is a movement led by Dr. Jay Threadgill. For over 24 years, this movement has grown to become one Haiti’s top Christian mass evangelism and mass outreach efforts. Dr. Jay Threadgill has conducted an amount of achievements which have actualized a movement of impacting consummation of works of the Kingdom of God.

In over 24 years of fulfilling great feats, Fishers of Men Ministries has authored a massive endeavor in planting 25 churches through the region of Port Au Prince. The heavy training, equipping, and launching of these staggering acts of courage have been maintained under severely harsh conditions. Fishers of Men Ministries has carefully utilized any monetary, prayer, and other supportive aids in the carrying out of this mission.

Fishers of Men Ministries has a mother church centrally located in Port Au Prince. This amazing church, Church on the Rock Port Au Prince, was planted by Dr. Jay Threadgill, which plays a major role in reaching impacting the lives of citizens of Port-au-Prince through helping the community by helping the poor, feeding of orphans, training and releasing into the marketplace, and other positive outreaches in the region. This energetic church has grown to over 8,000 in attendance on Sundays.

With deep belief and standard of depending on prayer, the church meets daily for prayer early in the morning with over 2,000 in attendance, Monday through Friday. This life changing time of prayer releases an atmosphere where the church and its disciples may continue moving forward against any negative elements at hand.

From the strength of prayer and the training of believers within this awesome local church in Port Au Prince, Dr. Threadgill has been able to establish 14 Academic Schools from ground up. Though contending through various challenges along the journey, these 14 academic schools are training and releasing hundreds of students and sending them to bring a positive Christian influence in the nation Haiti.

Dr. Threadgill has also established 4 national leading accredited bible schools which have altogether inaugurated a barrage of leaders into the community and the nation at large to start hundreds of local churches throughout the Haitian land. It is Dr. Threadgill’s passion to be a spiritual father who has laid his life down with the purpose and intent of raising others up to lead local churches, successful marketplace organizations, and citizens with Christian values of daily Christ-life living.

It is common for those which are a part of the local church of Church on the Rock Port Au Prince to visit any hospital and any prison within the region. These are efforts of mercy and loving kindness for the less fortunate. These are outreaches where many receive the message of Jesus and His Kingdom, but also receive prayer and ministry on a personal one on one basis. The approach in the hospital is to go bed by bed and minister to sick and dying patients.

Fishers of Men Ministries hosts a yearly evangelism crusade during Mardi Gras week in Port Au Prince. This is an event which brings in an incredible 60,000 people. Though among the voodoo culture, many locals fear kidnapping and being taken to voodoo activities, the gathering has grown stronger each year. This is an unexplainable phenomena where thousands of people come to a personal experience of knowing Christ. During these days, FISHERS OF MENMI sends out teams to do street evangelism and last year, they had over 1,000 salvations on the streets. During the crusade services, the average is around 2,500 salvations each evening.

As legal residents of Haiti in Port Au Prince, Jay and Linda Threadgill educate and feed 1,800 people on a daily basis. The strenuous and toilsome organizing, funding, and man power needed to facilitate this is great, especially living with the certain conditions of Haiti. Through much prayer, courage, and faith, the work continues, in spite facing many great challenges.

As an International bible training center, Fishers of Men Ministries, along with the help of the local church of Church on the Rock Port Au Prince has raised up ministers and helped them reach many parts of the region and the nation. Over 800 pastors into the ministry in the course of the last 8 years, equipped in the ministry of Christ and trained in the bible training center.

COTR PAP went from 6 to 8,000 to be able in 2009 to feed over 3,000 children daily. Many of these have no other means of eating or maintaining a healthy diet of any sort.

Fishers of Men Ministries has also established Morning Star Christian Academy in 1994. The academy began with 11 students that year, and has grown to almost 300 students at this time. It is one of the premier schools in the nation of Haiti.
