Greetings Beloved,
Once again, God is doing great things in the midst of piles of destruction and a
move to rebuild! Haiti is beginning to try to move into a comeback from the
destruction of the January 12th earthquake. Piles of rubble are slowly beginning to
be picked up. The rubble is so great this process will take time. As for Fishers of
Men Ministries, we’ve not slowed a bit and have been pushing forward on every front.
We are committed to “REBUILD HAITI”!
CHURCH OFFICES BEING CONSTRUCTED!
We have begun the construction of our church offices. I have 12 pastors that have
literally had no office since January 12th, but in a couple of weeks we hope to have
them back in a work place that will be suitable for the affairs of the church. We’re
using new “Seismic” construction techniques, foam walls, that are tied together with
steal and then stucco’d for a good finish. If this works, this will be nothing short
of genius. This will be the same technique we’ll use to build houses for the saints
of Church on the Rock, Port au Prince.
HOUSE RECONSTRUCTION!
We’ve ordered the same “seismic materials” for our first house donated by Church on
the Rock Okl.City. Once the office is completed, we’ll begin the new house for one
of our members that lost everything. This is all a learning curve for us, but once
we develop the technique it is our prayer that we can begin doing 2-4 houses a
month. The total cost of the house, (turn key) with floor, electric, windows, doors,
small living room, two small bedrooms and a modern bath…$7,000. I’m asking
church’s, church groups, businesses, prayer groups or individuals to commit to at
least one house each. Some groups might want to take on several houses for a
project. Should this project speak to your heart please feel free to contact me at
my email or the stateside office. WE NEED YOUR HELP
CLINIC PHASE ONE!
As most of you know, since January 12 we have been operating with great success an
out patient clinic. It has been a gem in the crown of our Lord to what we’re doing
here in Haiti. We’ve saved lives, gave birth to babies, and continue to minister to
the medical needs of a desperate people. This week, we’ve started phase one with
preparing the slab for the first building. Phase one will take the place of the
current clinic which has been operating out of our class rooms. Once phase one is
finished we’ll move the clinic thus freeing up class space for this next academic
year.
Phase 2 and phase 3 will be down the road which will include lab, x-ray, and an out
patient operating room. Phase one will cost easily $50,000. We’ve received our first
designated offering of $25k which came from our friends at IHOP. This will get the
slab in and hopefully the exterior walls and roof. We still need another $25K just
for phase one to be operational….Pray with us saints. God will touch those who are
to give.
MORNING STAR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM!
As most of you know, we here at FOMM and Morning Star Christian Academy have young
people that want to be educated but have no means. Since the conception of Morning
Star Christian Academy, the way we give back is to give 10% of our enrollment in
full scholarships. Another words if our enrollment is 240 kids, we scholarship 24
kids free. Now God has brought us to a new level. He is leading us to take the
cream of the crop that do not have means and help them get to the University level.
Currently, FOMM is fund raising the scholarship of Miss Christina Ceasar. She will
go to school at BCC in Melbourne and live in our home there. We’ve raised almost
$10k for this scholarship, but for her to get her student visa we have to have her
total tuition plus expenses set aside in an account totalling $20K Brothers and
Sisters, Christina is worth the investment. If the Lord should speak to your heart,
please donate $100, $500, $1,000 or even the whole $10K and lets bless a child that
will bring the creativity of God along with an education back to Haiti to make a
difference in this land. Go to www.fomrelief.com for more info.
SO MUCH TO DO, SO MUCH NEEDED!
Brothers and Sisters, Fishers of Men Ministries has been non stop since January
12th. I don’t think I’ve taken 7-8 days off since that day. I’m not complaining,
it’s just that we have so much to do…and so much is needed. I write these emails
to let you know what our needs are, and what we’re trying to accomplish. First I’m
asking you to pray for us and with us. All of this will be a miracle from God.
Second if you can donate, God Bless you! Third, if you can’t can you help us promote
the projects to those in your sphere of influence. We can’t do this alone and I’m
asking you for any help you can give.
Linda and I thank you all for your gracious heart toward us and the people of Haiti.
For all the seed you’ve sown, spiritual, financial, and physical, we declare that
God will multiply it all back to you so that you will be blessed, in every way.
Thank you, (seems so shallow) but what else can I say, Thank you so very much and
God Bless You All!
Determined,
Pastors Jay & Linda Threadgill
