Today (August 19th) we will graduate the 2010 bible school class! After a devastating earthquake, class delays and meeting in a tent, the class of 2010 prevailed, and though it took some extra time to finish classes, Fishers of Men is set to honor over 70 people this afternoon. Congratulations class of 2010! We are just weeks away from the next cycle of students set to begin the 2010-2011 classes. Pray for the students and instructors as we continue to equip the next generation of leaders.

Our medical clinic continues to move toward completion with the finished phase of Styrofoam construction now being stuccoed. Once this phase is done, the building will be tiled, painted and windows and doors installed as well as the all important AC unit. Once construction is complete we will begin outfitting this new clinic with all the needed equipment, medical supplies and medicines. Then begins the task of finding doctors and nurses who will volunteer a week of their time once a year to staff the clinic and serve the people of Port Au Prince. We hope to find 50 teams that would give their time once a year to keep our clinic up and running. All this and some specialized clinics through the year (eyeglass, etc.) will be a tremendous blessing to the people of Haiti. If you would like to volunteer or help fund this clinic, please contact us for further information.

This coming week is our annual leadership conference and believers rally. During the day sessions we are expecting close to 1000 pastors, ministry leaders and other church/ministry staff to participate from across the nation of Haiti from different churches and ministries. This is always a time to equip and encourage those who often give the most and receive the least. Our theme this year is: An Unshakable Kingdom.

In conjunction with our annual leadership conference, our believers rally will also take place beginning Sunday evening. We expect 3000+ people every night here on our property! This will be an incredible time of worship, prayer, preaching and impartation to the people of Church on the Rock and beyond! We have a team of pastors coming in to teach different sessions through the week and it will follow the theme of the leadership conference. We expect to see many come to the Lord, be healed and be set on a foundation that cannot be shaken no matter what circumstance comes our way.

Along with all these goings on, Morning Star Christian Academy is set to start its 2010-2011 academic year. We have many returning students and new students coming to the school from Pre-K to 12th. We also have a few new teachers coming in to teach! We are looking forward to the property being full of children as we educate them both academically and spiritually. The teachers and staff will be busy over the next week getting classrooms ready and curriculum prepared ahead of the return of all our students!

So brothers and sisters, as you can see, we are as busy as ever and even after the devastating earthquake at the beginning of this year life goes on. As always, we desire your prayers for this ministry and staff! We continue to stay focused on the mission of taking a nation for Jesus and cannot do this alone. Would you please consider partnering with us financially? Though there were many generous offerings over the past few months, much of that initial support has dried up as Haiti’s quake became yesterday’s news…but the need is still great and there is so much to do.

With shouts of grace!

Greetings Beloved,

Just now we’ve passed the 6 month anniversary of the catastrophic quake in Haiti.
We’re long out of the news, but yet Haiti and Fishers of men are in the process of
clean up, rebuilding and returning to some sort of normalcy.

Since the quake January 12th, We have been sooo busy! When most folks have had time
to take a summer break, we here at Fishers of Men have been pressing forward
relentlessly. We’ve spent most of the summer rebuilding church offices,
construction on the clinic, and working on getting Morning Star Christian Academy
up to speed for a new academic year. God has been gracious and I’m amazed at all
that has been accomplished. Many of you have asked, “when will I take a break?”
Well, I guess when it’s all done. Pray for me… I am tired. I thank all of you
who have given sacrificially and I pray God blesses you back abundantly. We still
have projects that are not yet finished that must get finished. My prayer is that
God may put one or more of these projects on your heart to assist. Initial finances
from the quake have long been finished. I’ve taken as many dates possible to preach
and fund raise. Again God has been gracious and your giving has been a great
blessing, but yet there is more to be done. Please lift this up to the Lord as we
press in to complete the race set before us.

CONTAINERS OF SUPPLIES-
We recently have purchased over $30,000 of text books, school supplies, desks,
building materials, ect. I was able to ship the first necessary container but have
yet another to go. We lack funds for customs and the shipping of the second
container. This will amount to about $7500.00

CHURCH OFFICE CONSTRUCTION!
The church offices are 80% finished. We have ceramic on the containers, windows are
in. We still have to install A/C and build out the interior. Our staff pastors have
functioned without a office for almost 7 months. Estamated completion costs are
about $5,000. Keep praying Saints.

CLINIC CONSTRUCTION-
As most of you know, since the quake, we set up a field clinic that has treated
literally thousands in their medical needs. Because this has been housed in
classrooms and with school opening we have begun construction of the new facility
that will house the clinic. We received a wonderful seed offering that has gotten us
started, but the offering was enough to take us half way. We still need about
$25,000 to finish it out. I realize this sounds like a large amount, but I still
believe if we each take just a piece of the pie, we can finish it out for the glory
of God!

HOUSING REBUILD!
Again, since the quake we have 100’s of our own people who lost their homes. We have
studied seismic building techniques and have slowly started to fund raise and begin
rebuilding homes for the faithful. We can put a family into a permanent home, two
small bedrooms a small living room with kitchen and one bath…electric, doors and
windows, cement pad for about $7,000. We have a few churches that have committed to
fund raise and build a home. Please pray and see if the Lord would put this on your
heart.

FEEDING PROGRAM
Fishers of Men Ministries has returned to it’s normal feeding program, feeding
thousands of children a meal a day, 5 day’s a week. We need all of you who have been
a part of this program to reconsider your commitment for this academic year. Just
think for about $25 a month you can feed and send a child to school. I cannot let
these children go without food. Stand with us as we believe God to bring in the
necessary funds.

SPECIAL OFFERINGS!
Beloved, as you can see there is still so much to be done. Since the quake, we
started a marathon of rebuild and to reestablish the ministry. It’s not a sprint and
it has taken every ounce of our efforts to have gotten to the point where we are.
I’m asking everyone to consider a special offering to get us over this hump.
Individuals and churches. Please pray and see what the Lord would have you to
do…Remember, together, we are “TAKING HAITI FOR JESUS!”

Linda and I love you all very much and thank you for all you’ve done. May God richly
bless you and all that you set your hands too!

Determined,
Pastors Jay & Linda Threadgill

While ground was technically broken several weeks ago with the site prepared and forms built, Yesterday the cement was finally poured in the first phase of building our new medical clinic here in Port Au Prince. With a team from Cottonwood Church, California working along side of our Haitian staff and the project being overseen by Bill Shelton, the foundation was poured and complete in just under 6 hours in the blazing summer heat. In the next few days we should have the Styrofoam building panels from the Dominican Republic and are hoping to be complete by mid September.

This will be the first phase of our clinic program, providing examine rooms, an admin area, storage and a pharmacy. In the future we hope to build a second building that will house a lab and x-ray room as well as a small out patient surgery room and recovery area.

Upon completion in September, FOMM will again be scheduling medical teams to come and serve the people of Port Au Prince. We are hoping to find 50 doctors and other other medical personnel that will commit to one week of time each year to come and treat the Haitian people. We will also target medical specialist to do specialized clinics throughout the year (eye exams, dental, prosthetics, etc). If you would like to volunteer for this or are ready to schedule your trip, please contact us for information.

We still have a long way to go and will need your continuing partnership to help finance the completion of this project. If you can help with this, please contact us. This clinic will be an incredible witness to the people of Port Au Prince and you can be a part of this miracle!

As a result of the devastating earthquake of 2010, Church on the Rock Port Au Prince lost its church building that housed not only the church services and activities, but the bible school and church staff offices. Since then, the church staff has had no place to work out of. While the ministry was blessed with an incredibly kind and generous donation of a tent that now houses the church services and activities as well as the weekly bible school, church staff has had no home since January. Last month, work began on the new administrative offices for the ministry on the very site where the new church building will be built in the coming months! Utilizing a new building system of styrofoam covered in wire mesh which is then stuccoed with cement, this system provides the strength and stability of a block building without the possibility of the crushing weight that killed so many from building collapses during the January quake.

New admin office construction utilizing the new styrofoam building system.

This process is the “test” or “prototype” building for Fishers of Men Ministries (FOMM) and was used to train a team of Americans and Haitians in the new process that will be used to build our future medical clinic as well as individual homes for Haitian families displaced by the quake. The current building should be completed within the next few weeks. After the “shell is complete, tile will be laid, air conditioning will be installed and the offices will be ready for the staff to move in! As the first building is completed and evaluated, our team will begin preparation for the next project and refine their skills. The finished product is indistinguishable from any other block building and even when you pound on the walls they have to feel of concrete block. It is a very strong structure at a fraction of the weight of other buildings.

Another shot of the team assembling the offices.

As many of you can imagine, the rebuilding of Port Au Prince will take years with some estimates as low as a 10 years and others as high as 20 years. FOMM will be a part of this process for many years to come and it is our sincere desire that we will be able to refine our building process so that we can bring in teams from around the US that will be able to help build homes for families as part of their mission team experience. If you have ever seen or participated in a Habitat for Humanity project, you know what we are seeking to do. Churches or organizations will be able to raise the funds needed to build a home for a family and then fly in and work alongside our building crews and raise a new home for a displaced family. There are still hundreds of thousands of people living on the streets under tents and tarps and the government has no solid plan to begin helping these families. But with your help, FOMM will be able to begin the long process of housing the people of Haiti!

Doors and windows are cut at desired locations in the styrofoam panels.

In the coming months we will unveil our new home building strategy and how you can participate. Current estimates put a home at $7,000. This is a complete building including cement foundation, the styrofoam panels and roof, fully constructed with doors and windows plus interior tile and kitchen/bathroom fixtures. The homes are storm rated for hurricanes and cannot burn (treated foam). Each home will have two small bedrooms, a living area, a kitchenette and bathroom. The building can easily be expanded by the family in the future and it is even possible to build second stories onto theses structures. All in all it is an incredible system and opportunity for the church, civic organizations, businesses and even families or individuals to get involved in a practical way!

Adding stucco to the styrofaom panels.

In the meantime, help is till needed by our partners in the funding of our current projects. If you can help, please send your donations to our home office in the US and designate your donations to our building fund. So many of you have been so generous and gracious over the past 6 months and we are eternally grateful, but there is so much to do in the coming years! Remember the words of Pastor Jay from those early days after the earthquake: This is not a sprint, its a marathon!”.

Greetings Beloved,

Once again, God is doing great things in the midst of piles of destruction and a
move to rebuild! Haiti is beginning to try to move into a comeback from the
destruction of the January 12th earthquake. Piles of rubble are slowly beginning to
be picked up. The rubble is so great this process will take time. As for Fishers of
Men Ministries, we’ve not slowed a bit and have been pushing forward on every front.
We are committed to “REBUILD HAITI”!

CHURCH OFFICES BEING CONSTRUCTED!
We have begun the construction of our church offices. I have 12 pastors that have
literally had no office since January 12th, but in a couple of weeks we hope to have
them back in a work place that will be suitable for the affairs of the church. We’re
using new “Seismic” construction techniques, foam walls, that are tied together with
steal and then stucco’d for a good finish. If this works, this will be nothing short
of genius. This will be the same technique we’ll use to build houses for the saints
of Church on the Rock, Port au Prince.

HOUSE RECONSTRUCTION!
We’ve ordered the same “seismic materials” for our first house donated by Church on
the Rock Okl.City. Once the office is completed, we’ll begin the new house for one
of our members that lost everything. This is all a learning curve for us, but once
we develop the technique it is our prayer that we can begin doing 2-4 houses a
month. The total cost of the house, (turn key) with floor, electric, windows, doors,
small living room, two small bedrooms and a modern bath…$7,000. I’m asking
church’s, church groups, businesses, prayer groups or individuals to commit to at
least one house each. Some groups might want to take on several houses for a
project. Should this project speak to your heart please feel free to contact me at
my email or the stateside office. WE NEED YOUR HELP

CLINIC PHASE ONE!
As most of you know, since January 12 we have been operating with great success an
out patient clinic. It has been a gem in the crown of our Lord to what we’re doing
here in Haiti. We’ve saved lives, gave birth to babies, and continue to minister to
the medical needs of a desperate people. This week, we’ve started phase one with
preparing the slab for the first building. Phase one will take the place of the
current clinic which has been operating out of our class rooms. Once phase one is
finished we’ll move the clinic thus freeing up class space for this next academic
year.

Phase 2 and phase 3 will be down the road which will include lab, x-ray, and an out
patient operating room. Phase one will cost easily $50,000. We’ve received our first
designated offering of $25k which came from our friends at IHOP. This will get the
slab in and hopefully the exterior walls and roof. We still need another $25K just
for phase one to be operational….Pray with us saints. God will touch those who are
to give.

MORNING STAR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM!
As most of you know, we here at FOMM and Morning Star Christian Academy have young
people that want to be educated but have no means. Since the conception of Morning
Star Christian Academy, the way we give back is to give 10% of our enrollment in
full scholarships. Another words if our enrollment is 240 kids, we scholarship 24
kids free. Now God has brought us to a new level. He is leading us to take the
cream of the crop that do not have means and help them get to the University level.
Currently, FOMM is fund raising the scholarship of Miss Christina Ceasar. She will
go to school at BCC in Melbourne and live in our home there. We’ve raised almost
$10k for this scholarship, but for her to get her student visa we have to have her
total tuition plus expenses set aside in an account totalling $20K Brothers and
Sisters, Christina is worth the investment. If the Lord should speak to your heart,
please donate $100, $500, $1,000 or even the whole $10K and lets bless a child that
will bring the creativity of God along with an education back to Haiti to make a
difference in this land. Go to www.fomrelief.com for more info.

SO MUCH TO DO, SO MUCH NEEDED!
Brothers and Sisters, Fishers of Men Ministries has been non stop since January
12th. I don’t think I’ve taken 7-8 days off since that day. I’m not complaining,
it’s just that we have so much to do…and so much is needed. I write these emails
to let you know what our needs are, and what we’re trying to accomplish. First I’m
asking you to pray for us and with us. All of this will be a miracle from God.
Second if you can donate, God Bless you! Third, if you can’t can you help us promote
the projects to those in your sphere of influence. We can’t do this alone and I’m
asking you for any help you can give.

Linda and I thank you all for your gracious heart toward us and the people of Haiti.
For all the seed you’ve sown, spiritual, financial, and physical, we declare that
God will multiply it all back to you so that you will be blessed, in every way.
Thank you, (seems so shallow) but what else can I say, Thank you so very much and
God Bless You All!

The 2009-2010 school years ends in just a few short days for Morning Star Christian Academy. When the school year started there were close to 300 students from Pre-K to 12th grade. After the earthquake on January 12th, the student population fell to just under 100 students. Morning Star was one of the first schools in the nation to repair it’s facilities and reopen it’s doors. Since the quake, we have had half day classes, continuing the education of tomorrows future leaders. The school year ran a little later than normal so that all students could finish up their courses, including the graduating class of 2010!

The senior class this year will produce only four graduates who finished out the school year despite the conditions and circumstances our young people had to face and overcome. The class of 2010 will be a special graduation here at Morning Star and the class is sure to remember this as one of the hardest years of their lives, and yet they finished their race well! We are sure that many who had to leave or were unable to return and finish their year will indeed be back next year!

We have students that lost parents, homes and family businesses and some that are still living on the streets under tarps or in tents, and still they come to one of the few places where stability exist. After weeks of being afraid of going into the school buildings and meeting in the yard, under trees or in the courtyard, all students are back in their classes. Please pray for the staff and families of Morning Star! Pray for a great enrollment year. We are asking for 300+ students for the 2010-2011 school year! There are many schools still damaged and empty so Morning Star stands ready to open her doors to those who lost their own schools! Pray for teachers and staff to be rested and refreshed and for all the material needs the school has!

As for those needs, we are asking for the following:

1) 200 school desks (ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET SURPLUS SCHOOL DISTRICT ITEMS??)
2) 20 computers (desk or laptop) for our classrooms
3) Office supplies (copy paper, staplers, scissors, pens, markers, pencils, etc.)
4) School supplies for students (lined paper, pens, pencils, crayons, etc.)

We will be loading a container to ship to Haiti in August! You can make arrangements to have items shipped to Melbourne or you can contribute financially by using PayPal or sending your donation earmarked for “school supplies” to:

Fishers of Men Ministries (make checks out to this name)
PO Box 410953
Melbourne, FL 32941

*We are also receiving applications for teaching positions for the 2010-2011 academic year! For more info please click on: Morning Star Employment Opportunities

Greetings My Beloved,

Once again we want to shout from the house tops what God is doing here in Haiti.
Keep us in your prayers as we press forward in “Rebuilding Haiti”!

AWESOME PRAYER!
Today is a national holiday, “Flag Day”, here in Haiti. What I like about holiday’s
in Haiti….Prayer doubles. Unlike America, where everyone bolts for the lake, the
beach, Disney world or what ever….Haitians come to pray. With well over 2500
people praying this morning, God’s presence was so strong. So many, crying out for a
change “WE CAN BELIEVE IN!” And I’m not talking politics. I want to encourage each
and everyone of you, to take time in your day and pray. Seek God for His plan and
purpose for your life, and passionately per sue what he has destined for you to do.
It’s there the blessings of God will manifest in your life as you accomplish all you
were created to do.

HAITI RELIEF CONTINUES…
With still 1,000,000 people living in tent cities, relief efforts are forced to
press forward bringing much needed supplies to these people displaced from their
homes. Today we’re receiving 150 pallets of relief supplies from TBN and
Friendships. We’ll be distributing these supplies to schools, orphanages, and tent
cities. God is good and what a privilege it is to be a part of his plan. Even
though the supplies are free, it will cost Fishers of Men Ministries close to $4,000
to pick up and distribute these items to families in need…. BECAUSE OF YOUR
FINANCIAL GIFTS THIS IS ALL POSSIBLE!

FROM RELIEF TO REBUILD
Our current project is to building a retaining wall to stop the water and mud from
entering the tent/sanctuary….Can you help. This is a $10,000 project. We need
everyone to send a love gift towards this most important project. Help us stop the
mud!

As we continue to minister to the every day needs, we are now turning our focus to
helping those rebuild. We’ve ordered our first materials to build our church offices
out of foam panels that will be used in rebuilding homes for those who have been
displaced. Cost for a home totally complete, with cement slab, home, window’s,
doors, electric, etc. is $7,000. WE ARE ASKING CHURCHES AND GROUPS TO CONSIDER
SPONSORING A HOME FOR A FAMILY OF OUR CHURCH!

CLINIC CONSTRUCTION!
We are pursuing with our whole hearts to build a permanent structure for our Clinic.
We have continued to minister to 150 or more people a day with doctors and medicine
these wonderful people would had never found. Total cost of this clinic, built out
with a/c electric, ect. will be about $150K. Pray with us as we seek those who will
give graciously towards this project.

THE DIPLOMAT EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTER!
Our final project will be to build our 32,000 sq ft. auditorium that will not only
house our church, but will double as an educational/conference center. This state of
the art building will be used for fine arts, concerts, play’s, conferences, seminars
along with housing the church. The projected cost for a total build out is $1.5
million. First stage to purchase the steal, and construct the shell is $500K. Again
we’re asking all our partners to pray and use their influence to help us find the
necessary funds to build this Center.

WE NEED YOU TO PRAY!
We’re asking all our partners to first pray with us that these very important
projects can be completed. At the same time we ask all of you to see what the Lord
would have you to do financially. For individuals…can you give a gift? For
churches, can you take a love offering? We need your help. I know if we all take a
part, small or large, God will get it done.

Linda and I love you all and pray blessings upon you and your families.

Greetings Beloved,

Once again it’s time to bring all of you an update. God has been so faithful and we
want to thank all of you for your stand with us as we begin to Rebuild Haiti. We are
still running the Marathon. We’re well past the 100 day mark since the Haiti
earthquake. We’ve completed over $100K of repairs to the school. The church meets
in in two services, with over 5,000 in attendance, in our 22,000 sq ft. tent. What
a blessing. God has done so much and yet there is still more to do.

WE STILL NEED SOME HELP.
Presently we’re now in rainy season. Our church sits on the lowest part of our
compound. Because of it’s position we need to build a retaining wall on the drive
entering to the church location. This will stop the mud wash along with the fact
we’re loosing part of the road that enters to our church. This project will cost
$10K. I need to ask 10 churches to consider a $1,000 love gift toward this project.

CHURCH OFFICES
Our second most pressing project is we need to build offices for the church staff.
We will build these offices in the newest seismic technology. The offices will be
the model for the homes we will begin to build for those who lost their homes. The
offices are about 1200 sq. ft. and will cost about $10,000. Again we need some of
our partners to consider this project and give us a hand.

MEDICAL CLINIC STILL MINISTERING TO HUNDREDS A WEEK!
Our temporary clinic has became a cornerstone of the ministry. We are still seeing
over 100 people a day. God has continued to provide medical personnel to minister to
these hurting people. We do need to build a permanent structure, however it looks
like we’ll be given two 20 ft. mobile clinics that will help house the clinic until
the construction is realized. Thank you Jesus! Construction costs will approach
about $150K. If you want to help financially with the construction, please earmark
your offering “clinic” and send it to our stateside office.

EARTHQUAKE HOUSING REBUILD PROJECT
The Spirit of God has spoken clearly to us to begin helping the “little people” of
our church to rebuild their homes. We’ve investigated the new techniques that have
been developed for earthquake areas. We’ve settled on a foam panel construction that
when stucco ‘d, you cannot tell the difference from this technique and block walls.
We can build a 400 sq. ft. home, Windows, doors, electric and cement pad for about
$6,500. We will be training Haitian team leaders in the technique that will join
teams as they come to help build. I’m asking churches, businesses, and groups to
consider sending a team and sponsoring a home. Please pray about this. What a
witness as we rebuild homes for those who lost everything. Contact us as soon as
possible and we’ll schedule you and your group to come and be a blessing.

I realize it all sounds like so much, but we do serve a big God. If each one of us
does our part, these projects can be completed for his glory. Please give these
projects prayerful consideration. Pastors can you take a special offering? Partners,
can you send a gift? Together we can get it done and God will have the glory.

Linda and I want to continue to say…thank you and we love you. We’re praying for
you daily and I believe the blessings of God will be poured out upon your lives.
Together we will “Rebuild Haiti”.
