The word the Lord gave me for 2012 came from the book of John, chapter 11:40, where Jesus spoke to Mary concerning the resurrection of Lazarus, saying ” Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

2012 Will be a year of God’s manifested glory, for those who will believe. For those who will prioritize the manifested presence of God in their lives, through faith in His word, along with a life style of prayer and worship. Brothers and Sisters, Make this your new years resolution…to be closer to God than ever before. It’s there your faith will be made strong and His powerful glory will manifest in your life, your family, and your affairs. Let’s make a life changing decision and press on in to the Holy of Holies.

HAITI PRAISE REPORTS!

NEW YEARS EVE!
Once again we held our annual New Years Eve, prayer and worship service. And once again the presence of God was so sweet and strong. Over 5,000 faithful gathered to pray and worship from 8 pm till midnight. The tent was packed and if you were outside the tent, it was hard pressed to work your way back in. We were literally surrounded by the masses. What an awesome way to bring in the New Year.

HAITI KIDS CHRISTMAS- SUCCESS!
What a great response we had from you our partners to help in our Christmas box give away. You our partners donated over 2,250 gift box’s. We were believing for 3,000 and once again God moved. We were contacted by TBN and Samaritans Purse, and they asked if we could distribute 2,000 of their gift box’s to our church network….Hallelujah! Not only did we meet our goal of 3,000 but were able to give another 1250 gift box’s to churches that may
not have found otherwise. God is so good. We touched 4,250 children with the message and love of Christmas. Thank you to you all…Thank you TBN and Samaritans Purse.

NEW NECESSARY PROJECT! MARDI GRAS CRUSADE!
Since the quake, I’m blessed to say, and give testimony to our Lord that all of our ministries have been able to function at pre-quake levels…all but one. This year will be the first year since the quake, we want to return to our Mardi Gras Crusade. We’ve seen thousands come to know Jesus through this very important outreach. However because of the quake we lost about half of our equipment. I just had estimates done to replace only what we lost and the balance came to $27,000. Ouch!. Even though the building is our priority, God has placed this most important outreach on my heart to accomplish…so what do we do?

First, Already, God has designated a gift of $5,000 to this need!….so
now…. I NEED TO ASK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU TO PRAY AND SEE WHAT GOD WOULD HAVE YOU TO DO. I’m asking churches to consider a $1,000 love offering or more. I’m asking partners to give $100 or more to meet the balance of this need.

SEND YOUR LOVE OFFERING MARKED “CRUSADE SOUND” TO OUR STATESIDE OFFICE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Mardi Gras is February 19th. We’ll need to ship the equipment by the last week of this month. What ever the Lord puts on your heart, I know through many hands, the load will be made light.

Last month we stepped out in faith an ordered the steel for the building frame for the future home of Church on the Rock Port Au Prince! This building will serve as a meeting place for the church, a multimedia arts and education complex and an emergency shelter during storms or other area catastrophes!

In September, pastor Jay clearly heard God say, “Use what is in your hand.” and so with enough money on hand for the initial down payment of $65,000 the steel was ordered and is currently being manufactured. In 45 days there is another large payment due and then the remaining balance will be due when the steel is ready to ship from the US to Haiti.

Pastor Jay has been visiting partner churches in the US for the past two months in an effort to raise awareness and the needed finances for this next payment and the upcoming final payment for this steel. This is just the very first step in this building project, but after 21 months meeting under a tent and facing damage from several storms and the unending pounding of the Caribbean sun, we have to move forward! Once the steel is erected and the roof in place, we will be able to meet under the structure in much the same was we meet under the tent as we raise the finances for future phases in finishing the building.

We are asking all our faithful partners to join us in raising the needed finances for this first phase! Time is short and many hands make the load light. We need churches, businesses, families and individuals to do what they can to eliminate this remaining balance and set us up for phase 2! It has been almost 16 months since the devastating earthquake of January 2010. As many of you know, we lost our church building along with over 30 church staff members and Bible school students. In response to our loss, a 22,000 square foot tent was graciously donated to Fishers of Men. This tent has been home to our prayer meetings, church services, Bible school and all the different events we are involved in on a weekly basis. In September of 2010 we suffered severe damage to our tent during a tropical “micro burst” storm which damaged almost 1/3 of the tent. We have grown to capacity in this tent and many times we are overflowing into the surrounding courtyard. Now we are moving into the hurricane season of 2011 and we cannot afford another season under a tent! IT IS TIME TO BUILD!

We have the property, the equipment and a construction needed to construct a multi-use community/education center in Port Au Prince. All we need is the building materials! Last fall we began a building campaign in our church here in Port Au Prince. The goal was $500,000K for the first phase of the project which would be the steel and the roof. To date, our Haitian congregation has raised $100,000K in US dollars! This is no small amount for a people that are among the most impoverished people in the western hemisphere! But they have a vision for what will be in the coming season. IT IS TIME TO BUILD!

Our building will be unlike any other in our section of Port Au Prince. It will be a community center that will serve many purposes! Of course it will house our church services and morning prayer meeting, but it will be so much more! It will be a fine arts center for musical and theater productions as well as a business and conference facility as well as an educational center. Maybe more importantly, it will be used as an emergency shelter for the people in the event of a natural disaster or emergency situation. IT IS TIME TO BUILD!

With the steel and roof established, we will still be able to meet underneath the structure (much like the tent), but with the added strength of the steel we will not need to worry about storms while we begin raising the needed finances for the second stage. We have the necessary funds to put a deposit on the steel, but once that is paid, we have 120 days to raise the balance or we lose the deposit. So before we do that, we want to be sure we have the necessary funds and be good stewards of all that the people have sacrificed to give. Our desire is to begin construction no later than the fall of 2011. IT IS TIME TO BUILD!

This is where you can partner with us! $400,000K seems like an incredibly daunting amount of money, but if each one would do their part, we could raise this amount in not time at all! It is not impossible and with God, it is more than possible! In fact, there may be someone reading this that can easily finance the entire balance of the steel or a significant portion of the balance. But even then, we have so much more that we need to raise to complete this project. So to make this attainable for each of you, we have come up with this simple strategy. We are asking for each of you to consider the following donation:

-$25 per person
-$50 for a family
-$100 for a business

Of course, some of you can do so much more and you can even encourage others to give or match your funds. You can sponsor fundraisers, churches can take up special offerings, businesses can reach out to other business community partners, etc. Be creative and help us build! You donations can be given directly through this site using our PayPal link or you can send your financial gift to our stateside office (see website for address). Make sure you denote the purpose of your gift as “construction”. Together, we can make this a reality! You can be a blessing to a people who have faced an incredible hardship this past year and help us impact a nation and a generation. IT IS TIME TO BUILD!

Upcoming needs:

Our school year is winding down to a close for 2010-2011 with the last day of school on June 17th, but we are already gearing up for the 201-2012 academic year! We will be loading our next shipping container in mid-July so that all materials, supplies and equipment can be shipped and cleared of customs before the next school year starts on August 15th! As always, we have a wish list of needed equipment and supplies that we look for help with. You can easily send the needed finances to allow us to purchase the necessary items or you can buy one of the items on the list as a church, business , family or individual. Here are the items we need for the upcoming school year:

1) Two (2) classroom projectors. Cost- $300-$400 each
2) One hundred (100) school desks. Cost- $50 each
3) Ten (10) 12000 BTU window unit AC’s. Cost- $300 each
4) Ten (10) 22000 BTU window unit AC’s. Cost- $550 each
5) Six (6) Dell desktop computers with monitors. Cost- $450 each

Along with these specific needs, we are always looking for generous donations of school supplies such as: lined paper, copy paper, pens, pencils, tape, paperclips, construction paper, crayons, stickers, glue, staples, staplers, scissors, etc. Contact us on where to send these supplies for the children of Haiti!

We are also looking for an office executive desk with chair and a office grade filing cabinet for our medical clinic. This can be purchased at any used office supply store (we have a great one in Melbourne, FL).

Future Projects:

Since the destruction of our church building last year, we have been meeting in a tent on our property. Our children’s ministry meets in a separate tent on the property. Last year we poured the foundation for the future church building which will not only house the church, but it will also be a community center and an emergency shelter for the surrounding neighborhood during storms and other natural disasters. While we had hoped to begin construction this year, funds have been slow to come in for this project. The projected goal for phase 1 of this project is $550,000 of which we have currently raised close to $100,000 leaving a balance of $450,000. We need to build! A tent in the tropics just will not last during the summer hurricane season as well as the damage it takes from the intense heat and sunlight. Please consider how you can help us reach our goal and begin to build the future home of Church on the Rock, Port Au Prince.

Along with that, we want to build our new children’s church building. The estimated cost for this project is $50,000. As we just stated, our children meet weekly in a tent. When it rains it is muddy and it is always hot even though they are set up under a beautiful stand of trees. Help us build a facility for our children, they are the future of the church!

Lastly, after years of renting, it was determined that it is time to build a parsonage. This will become part of the ministry property and will house the pastor and his family now and in the future as FOMM and its ministry/mission will continue long after Pastor Jay and Mrs. Linda retire. The cost for this project will be approximately $60,000 and will be of the same foam paneling material that we are currently using to build homes for dislocated families as well as our medical clinic and admin offices. We are currently studying our site plan to see if this building can be located on our current property or looking at a small piece of property directly in the area of the school/church property.

I’m writing you today with great faith in our God that He will see us through every circumstance and obstacle that the enemy places against us. Thanks be unto God who gives us the victory through Christ Jesus. (I Cor. 15:57)

Ministry here in Haiti is at an all time high. Church is full. People are receiving Christ every week. Outreaches continue to go and touch the city through out the week. By God’s grace we still are feeding 1835 kids a day, 5 day’s a week at 7 locations. Praise the Lord! As the academic year comes to a close, Fishers of Men Bible College and Morning Star Christian Academy are preparing for another graduation of seniors. God is good.

However, Fishers of Men Ministries is in the midst of fighting the fight of faith in the middle of this recession. I know we’ve all been affected one way or another. Unemployment is still way too high. We’ve seen gas prices soar. The housing market is still a mess. All in all we’ve all faced challenges. Here in Haiti our fuel prices have increase 23%. At the same time, during the month of April our “General Fund” offerings have dipped 43% from budget. I’ve continued to stand before the thrown of God, with prayer and supplication. I know God has not brought us this far for us to fail. It’s not even in our mind…but we do have to stop the bleeding.

You, our partners are our “giving church” to the general fund of Fishers of Men Ministries. As individual friends, and partnering churches, I have to ask you, can you send a special love offering to help us in this deficit? Whether you can give a small amount or a large amount, I truly believe that together we can overcome this financial challenge. This month marks the beginning of FOMM’s 25th year of ministry in Haiti. There have been many ups and downs over the years but it has never been dull! We ask that you continue to pray for this ministry as we look forward to what God desires to in through FOMM. Last year was the most challenging year ever for the ministry, the Threadgill family and all of our staff here in Port Au Prince and though there was tremendous loss, we have continued to see the faithfulness of God through it all. As we look ahead, like the apostle Paul, we don’t rest on the works and accomplishments of yesterday, we press on into the upward calling of Christ Jesus!

Our annual Youth/Young Adult Rally kicked off Sunday night with over 3000 people in attendance which far exceeded our expectations for the first night! The worship is passionate and a great message was brought to our young people!

We have two intern teams currently here in Port Au Prince to assist with the rally, one from Phoneix, Az. (Chad Johnson Ministries) and from Baton Rouge, La. (Bethany World Prayer Center) assisting this week with the rally. Besides helping with the evening services, the teams are also ministering in area hospitals, prisons and doing evangelism on the streets of port Au Prince!

Greetings in the wonderful Name of Jesus! God is good, and we are pressing
into Him with great faith for all the wonderful things that He’s doing and
is to do, in our midst! Once again, we want to shout it from the house tops
to all that we see the Spirit of God doing.

YOUTH RALLY- EASTER WEEK!
This next week, starting Palm Sunday, we’ll be hosting our annual Youth
Rally. We are over excited as we are expecting in excess of 1,000 youth
gathering for the 4 day’s of Rally. We will be joined by two groups. First a
group of interns are coming from Bethany World Prayer Outreach…Baton Rouge
La. In addition we’ll be joined by Pastor Chad Johnson from CJM, along with
two national league football players who will be doing the key note
speaking. We have promoted this rally with intensity and are believing God
for a move of his Spirit on this next generation. Pray and believe with us
for a manifestation of His glory and signs and wonders demonstrated!

MEDICAL CLINIC UP AND RUNNING
Finally, it looks like we have the right people in place for our clinic to
be up and running full time. Dr. Monique a faithful servant of God in our
church will be our supervisor. We’re also hiring a full time RN and support
staff. As I write, we are hosting a group of medical students from San
Fransisco CA. We’ve been seeing over 100 patients a day. (pics to follow in
our e-newsletter). One of our greatest needs is financial partners to help
us with this clinic budget. We can operate for about $2500 a month. We’ve
made the step by faith but have not yet generated the budget. Please pray
for those who have the heart to financially support this budget on a monthly
bases.

KIDS FEEDING PROGRAM CONTINUES!
Fishers of Men Ministries has been able to feed 1835 school kids for the
past two months and we’ve just sent the food to our feeding locations for
the month of April/May (pics to follow in our e-news letter). This has been
nothing short of a miracle, as God has supernaturally provided. We’ve just
ordered our next container of food (by faith) that should take us through
till school is out. Please pray for continued financial support for this
very important aspect of our ministry. In addition, pray for those who have
given so generously that God would bless them in return for their
sacrificial giving.

NO RECESSION IN GOD’S KINGDOM
I want to ask for prayer concerning our general budget. With all the
economic problems of our nation. Unemployment, Gas prices increasing, tax
time payments, and a general uneasiness in the economy, Fishers of Men has
felt the tightness of our times. You may be seeing $4.00 gas, but we’re
seeing $6.00 gas. I’m asking for prayer, that God’s economy will be
realized not only for our ministry but for all of you who have so faithfully
supported our work over the past 24 years. The times in which we live will
require “great faith”, along with supernatural blessings. The only way I
know of to realize the supernatural blessings of God is to sow our financial
seed by faith! God has a way to open the doors of opportunity when there
seems to be no opportunity. I’d like to ask all of you to sow a seed into
good ground here in Haiti. I promise you that every dime you give is going
to reach souls and touch lives. Release your prayer and faith on your seed
sown and I believe with all my heart you will see a financial return on your
investment in God’s Kingdom.

One of the annual events hosted by FOMM is the yearly Mardi Gras Crusade. This crusade has gone on for most of FOMM’s existence with the exception of last year due to the earthquake. In fact, the entire Mardis Gras event was canceled last year due to the earthquake and relief efforts.

Mardis Gras in Haiti is a time of debauchery and wickedness and FOMM has strategically held city wide crusades during this dark time as a witness to the people engaging in so many sinful activities. We are currently gearing up for the annual crusade and already our guest speakers are flying in from the US and one speaker from Africa. We also have a team coming in to help with the “hands on” preparation for both the crusade and some general repairs around the Morning Star compound to include rebuilding our children’s playground for our school.

Our team is already busy setting up speaker stands and a base for some large screen TV’s for the overflow crowds. While this event was generally held outdoors at an area soccer field, there remains a tent city of quake refugees on that site and many of the large field venues around the city. So this year we are hosting the event on our own property. We will have enough seating for close to 5000 people and the grounds around the tent will be full! Every year this event draws over 40,000 per night! This year we know we can’t accommodate those numbers, but we do expect over 10,000 people every night!

Please keep us in prayer as we gather people to worship and pray and our speakers declare the gospel of the kingdom to the crowds here on our property, but also to the surrounding neighborhood with our speakers pushing the music and the message to the people nearby. The event will be held from Saturday night through Wednesday night and we are expecting a move of God in the area of evangelism, deliverance and healing! Pray that God would confirm His word with signs and wonders!

In conjunction with this even we are also hosting our annual spring leaders conference during the day. We expect ministry leaders from around the nation to come and receive encouragement as we worship together and our team of guest speakers brings a word to those who serve all year long. This will include ministry leaders and volunteers from Church on the Rock and the churches we have planted over the past 25 years as well as ministers from a variety of affiliated churches and ministry networks. We are believing for over 1000 people to attend this leadership conference. Pray for those men and women on the front lines here in Haiti who plant churches, run orphanages and schools, care for the sick and the prisoner and spread the gospel on the streets of the cities and towns across the nation!
